# Troubleshooting

> Diagnose connection issues without sharing credentials.

## REST requests fail

* Confirm the base URL is `https://api.outreign.io/rest-api`, not the documentation hostname.
* Send `X-API-Key`, not an MCP Bearer token.
* Confirm the key is active and the account has API access.
* Use a resource ID returned by your account; another account's record is not accessible.
* Inspect both the HTTP status and JSON `error`; check [errors and limits](https://docs.outreign.io/developer-docs/errors-and-limits.md).

## MCP connects but tools are missing

Refresh or reconnect the assistant's connector and start a new conversation. Clients can cache tool definitions. Check that the client supports remote Streamable HTTP and OAuth, and use the endpoint in the [connection guide](https://docs.outreign.io/developer-docs/mcp/connect.md).

## Webhook deliveries fail

Review delivery logs in **Settings → Webhooks**. Your receiver must be publicly reachable over HTTPS and should acknowledge accepted events quickly. Verify signatures against the raw request bytes, not reformatted JSON.

## Contact support

Check [API status](https://outreign.io/api-status), then contact [support@bdotindustries.com](mailto:support@bdotindustries.com) with the endpoint, approximate UTC time, HTTP status and a redacted error message. Never include API keys, OAuth tokens, webhook secrets or full private payloads.
